About Me
I believe portraiture is less about photography and more about connection.
My approach to portraiture is intentional and collaborative. Rather than chasing trends or heavily manufactured perfection, I focus on creating portraits that feel emotionally honest and lasting.
The most meaningful photographs are rarely the most technically perfect ones. They are the images that bring us back to a person, a relationship, or a season of life we never want to lose sight of.
That belief shapes the way I approach every portrait session. I want people to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely seen. That level of trust can allow people the emotional freedom to be vulnerable. Some of the most powerful moments happen after the posing fades away. When people stop performing for the camera and simply exist with one another, they are connected in the process.
I also believe photographs deserve to exist physically in the spaces we live. A home can become a gallery of the people and moments that matter most. The portraits we choose to display often become part of a family’s emotional history, growing more valuable with time.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing families, professionals, artists, children, pets, and members of the Lynchburg community through both commissioned work and personal projects. Teaching photography has also deeply shaped my process, reinforcing the importance of patience, communication, and helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera.
